To continue our recent trend of hitting up local Watertown and Newton eateries, we tried out the Halfway Cafe on Main Street in Watertown. Flat out, it was really, really good. And cheap. And fast. I highly recommend. I tried the Grilled Chicken Fajita and Kim tried the Steak Tip Salad. Both were excellent, and the service was very friendly. There were several nice TVs tuned in to NESN, making it a great place to catch a Red Sox game. Try it out ... Halfway Cafe also has locations in Marlboro, Dedham, and Canton.

Kim and I had an urge for some comfort food yesterday around 5:00 pm, so we tried Cabot's Ice Cream. After being seated immediately (the line started to form right after we got there), I ordered a grilled cheese and a hot dog, kim had a grilled chicken salad, and we shared some onion chips. It was just what the doctor ordered. We couldn't leave without getting some ice cream, so I had the "You Got Chocolate on my Peanut Butter" Sundae and kim had a cone of carrot cake ice cream. It was the best ice cream we've had in the Newton/Watertown area. A great place for familes, as all the little kids seemed to really enjoy the desserts.

We were lucky enough to get last minute reservations at Ariadne Restaurant & Bar last night, and we were very pleased with our trip. Ariadne is an upscale and stylish restaurant serving up inventive Mediterranean cuisine. Our meals were excellent from start to finish, the ambiance was fantastic, and the service was great. To top it off, parking was ample and free, and we didn’t have to fuss with going into Boston. We’d highly recommend Ariadne for a nice night out, especially if you’re not in the mood for the hustle and bustle of Boston.
