We went to James's Gate in Jamaica Plain for St. Patty's Day yesterday. It was jam packed, thus the service was super slow. It seemed like they could have had a lot more staff on for the night, as it took over 15 minutes each time somebody went for a drink. However, the atmosphere was just right for the occasion, and we were lucky enought to get a corner booth. We only tried a few appetizers, and they were pretty good. Some of our friends tried the Irish entrees and were impressed. Another plus is that parking was actually really easy. Overall, I'd recommend, hoping that the service is more efficient when there's less of a crowd.
