Charley's Eating & Drinking Saloon
Friday we found ourselves driving around Chestnut Hill looking for a good place to eat where we didn't need to be too dressed up. We found a good solution in Charley's Eating & Drinking Saloon. We were mostly pleased with our experience, save that we had to wait an hour when we were told it would only be half that. Otherwise, both the service and the food were very good. They do their best work with salads and burgers, and both hit the mark this time. Charley's also has other locations on Newbury Street and in Waterford, CT. It's right along the lines of a Joe's, which is owned by the same group. They're something about chain restaurants that keep us coming back every so often ... good selection, you know you're getting good quality food (but nothing extraordinary), and good value. That's all you're looking for sometimes. And we definitely found that at Charley's ... two thumbs up. We're also big fans of the Newbury Street location.- posted by Mike Andrews @ 10:18 AM
